Certification and Sustainable Forest Management
Kloek Pallets Kampen only supplies wood from sustainably managed forests. Our FSC® and PEFC certifications are a guarantee that our products come from forests that are managed in a responsible way. The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) guarantee that the wood meets strict social, environmental and economic criteria. This makes it possible to guarantee traceability and sustainability throughout the entire chain.
EUDR – Legislation against Deforestation
The new European Deforestation Free Products Regulation (EUDR) applies to our wood products. This legislation aims to combat deforestation and forest degradation by ensuring that raw materials such as wood are legally obtained and do not contribute to deforestation. Kloek Pallets Kampen meets the strict requirements of the EUDR, whereby we apply due diligence requirements to guarantee the origin and legality of our wood. This ensures that our wood is sustainable and contributes to a better environment, in line with our long-term goals for CO2 neutrality.
ISPM-15
Since 2005 we have had a number of drying/treatment rooms. By means of heat treatment we can make the wood suitable for export to other continents. Wooden packaging that is exported abroad must meet the requirements of ISPM-15. For the delivery of treated pallets, crates and other materials we are affiliated with the Stichting Markering Houten Verpakkingen (SMHV), under registration number NL-098. When the wood is provided with an ISPM 15 mark it is suitable for shipment all over the world. The ISPM-15 standards describe the treatment methods with which the wood must be treated so that it is certain that there are no more harmful organisms present in the wood. The wood is certified after treatment and after it has been provided with the ISPM-15 logo as well as the country of origin. Certified pallets that are repaired must be treated again after repair.
